HK LIGHTS

When I saw the movie „Fallen angels“ by Wong Kar-Wai back in 1995, I was blown away by the virtuosity of all the different lights mixed into one big stream of colors. Two years later I found myself in Hongkong prepping a movie to be shot in China. After a couple of days in the "port of flavors" which rather feels like a city of smell I realized that most of the lights were actually just there. Wong Kar-Wai and his wonderful DOP Christopher Doyle must have actually shot most of the stuff with available light, that in Hongkong is truly „available“ 24 hours and in at least 24 different colors.
